Production and application performance of methyl silicone oil

Methyl silicone oil is the earliest commercially available silicone polymer. Because of its excellent oxidation resistance, shear resistance, low surface tension, hydrophobicity, defoaming and other properties, it is widely used in electrical, mechanical, coating, medical and other national economic departments.
    During the production of methyl silicone oil, the catalyst is decomposed to generate irritating odor gases, and these gases are partially dissolved in the system, which makes the silicone oil have an odor and its application is limited. Therefore, we should try to eliminate odor during the production of methyl silicone oil.


    The production process of methyl silicone oil is carried out in a reaction kettle. The entire production process includes the copolymerization reaction process, the process of pumping down the broken medium, the heat preservation process and the process of cooling the finished product. (Condensing temperature is normal temperature) After condensation, the non-condensable gas is led to the activated carbon absorption device for treatment and discharged through a 15m exhaust cylinder at high altitude.


    Methyl silicone oils of different viscosities will mingle with each other. Since the lightning flash of the low viscosity silicone oil is low, the lightning flash of the mixed methyl silicone oil may be reduced. The chemical properties of methyl silicone oil are relatively stable, but the viscosity will change when it comes into contact with strong acid, strong alkali or metal aluminum, tin, etc. at high temperature.


    Tests have shown that using 90 ° -120 ° C temperature control method and lowering the temperature to below 140 ° C after taking off, and introducing dry air bubbling method, colorless, odorless and qualified methyl silicone oil can be obtained , The average conversion rate increased from 65% to more than 80%.
